In most states of Australia, Aussie Rules Football is the most popular winter sport. Even the Rugby states have teams in the national Aussie Rules league – the AFL (Australian Football League).
There are many websites out there dedicated to AFL footy. The official AFL site follows the corporate line and has carefully placed adds and links from major sponsors, it is actually part of the huge Telstra Bigpond network of internet sites.
One of the unofficial dedicated AFL sites is Footy Junkie. Unlike the the official site, Footie Junkie is written in layman's terms, articles are normally short with plenty of photos and some video.
