Back in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, Nokia was THE mobile cell phone company. This was when Apple just made computers, Motorola and Blackberry were struggling to get a slice of the mobile market and users were happy with a grey LCD screen on their device that didn’t do much more than make phone calls.
Fast forward to 2014, Apple and Google (Android) are the big players in the smart device (so much more than a phone) market. The other tech giant, Microsoft, is trying to make an impact in the market with their Windows Phone operating system and have recently completed the purchase of Nokia, who is the main hardware producer for Windows Phones.
To mark the Nokia take over by Microsoft, tech site CNET have updated their article on the photographic history of Nokia’s mobile phone innovation.
