Filter Fakers

Here’s an interesting site for Instagram fans.

Originally photo sharing site, Instagram, became popular because it allowed users to share photo from their phones and apply filters to give their images an older look, like Polaroid photos from the 70’s and 80’s.  Now there’s a growing Instagram trend to tag photos with the hash-tag “#NoFilter”, to imply that your phone’s camera and photographic skills are so good that no filter was necessary.  The problem is that not everyone us truthful with their hash-tags!  PetaPixel has reported a Spredfast study that found 11% have users posting pictures with the #NoFilter tag have in fact used a filter to process the photo.

Don’t worry filter fans, there’s a site for that!  Filter Fakers is a simple site that highlights these fakes, and tells you which Instagram filter was actually used.
