It's not too long now before Santa starts his annual trek around the world to distribute gifts to all the good girls and boys. Each year as technology improves we can get a better insight into Santa's movements on Christmas Eve. To supplement his magic, Santa also has incorporated GPS and Google Maps technology into his sleigh this year.
This will allow parents world wide to track Santa on Google Maps to make sure the kids are in bed and asleep well before Santa is near-by.
Parents shouldn't cut it too fine, as there seems to be a few minutes discrepancy between Google and traditional Santa Tracker NORAD. I imagine the times will be adjusted once the sleigh takes off and begins this epic journey.
Of course with so much air traffic these days, Santa needs to liaise with various Air Traffic Control organisations around the world. Santa has filed a flight plan with Air Services Australia, who have given him the call sign of RedSled1 so they can track his progress and keep the sky clear for this important flight.
