Flickr: The Commons

Flickr is a great photo sharing site, used by professional and amateur photographers, bloggers, companies, politicians and families.  Another growing user base on Flickr are public libraries from around the world.

"The Commons" is a collection of vintage public photos, with no known copyright restrictions.  As The Commons home page says...

"The key goals of The Commons on Flickr are to firstly show you hidden treasures in the world's public photography archives, and secondly to show how your input and knowledge can help make these collections even richer."

Placing a search of The Commons can return you hundreds of photos from a time gone buy.
