Flickr Olympics

The 2010 Winter Olympics are well underway in Vancouver Canada, and more so than ever before, the use of social media allows us to see images other than those in the general media.  In fact the International Olympic Committee "...actively encourages spectators, athletes and others to take part in Social Media and to post their experiences. Broadly speaking we want people to share their experiences and share their still photos as long as this is done without commercial gain and does not contravene the Olympic Charter."





Photo sharing site flickr.com is ideally suited to sharing the olympic experiences of so many; from spectators, to officials, competitors, and pro photograhers all uploading their photos to a group pool dedicated to the 2010 Winter Olympics.
