Back in April and November last year, I gave you various links to the long running Pitch Drop experiment at Queensland University, as they waited for the ninth drop of pitch (or tar) to drop from a funnel (each drop takes 8 to 13 years to fall).
Well this month the ninth drop finally fell, well lowered and touched the eighth drop, in the beaker underneath the funnel.
Below are links to updates from the university that describe the drop and what happened afterwards;

Now the wait for the Tenth Drop has began. If you don’t have any grass to watch grow, or paint drying, you can watch the 10th Pitch Drop slowly fall over the next 13 years or so.
